CIDM Listserv guidelines

The CIDM listserv encourages dialogue about improving diagnosis and disseminates information relevant to everyone interested in achieving this goal. The listserv is moderated to ensure appropriate usage.

Please include your name, email, and phone number on all postings.

We encourage postings relating to diagnostic quality, safety, efficiency, equity and patient centeredness. Postings should promote collaboration and respectful dialogue. Also:

  • Notices of relevant upcoming events, meetings and conferences. Please include links to details on what/when/where, whenever possible
  • Notices of recent relevant publications, with links or PDF’s if available
  • Notices of grants and funding opportunities in the field
  • Relevant announcements from other organizations
  • Notices of relevant news events and stories
  • Resources for clinicians, organizations, and patients to improve diagnosis
  • Opinions and reflections on major themes or recent news regarding diagnosis or diagnostic error

We discourage or will block:

  • Postings relating to SIDM’s demise
  • Comments that denigrate a person, their posting, their paper or project
  • Patients requests for medical advice (we will respond to these via email)
  • Postings favoring personal political or religious viewpoints
  • Most “I agree” postings
  • Anonymous postings
  • Commercial postings

If you have a strong personal disagreement with a posting, we encourage you to contact that person directly, and not vent your feelings on the listserv.
